Recommended responses to the issues around substance misuse in the elderly, written for the Ministry of Health. Primary recommendation is to implement outreach services for the elderly that have been identified with alcohol and/or drug use problems. The report refers to the successful pilot program VISTA and provides cost savings and a budget for treatment programs in the existing health regions of BC.
