Infertility: Problems Getting Pregnant

An education manual for women about infertility, written by the Vancouver Women's Health Collective (VWHC) as part of their Women's Reproductive Health Project. The manual defines in lay-terms infertility, reproduction, and testing for infertility for both men and women; it outlines the main health problems related to women's and men's infertility, and describes various medical procedures including donor insemination and new reproductive technologies such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Gamete Intra-Fallopian Transfer (GIFT). It also outlines other options for parenting and ways to effectively deal with infertility, including encouraging women to start a self-help group. Included in the manual are community resources in BC, Alberta, the Yukon, and the US for services such as infertility support groups, adoption, AIDS, and foster care.
