This guide is a product of the B.C. Federation of Labour's 1991 annual women's conference on the issue of violence against women. The manual provides gender-based analysis of the normalization and institutionalization of violence against women in the workplace and at home. The guide examines wage disparity and economic inequality, as well as embedded discrimination and the connections with violence against women. It offers an action plan for changing cultural perceptions of violence against women, specifically from within the unionized workplace.
