Raging Women: Fighting Cutbacks in BC!

A speech presented by the Vancouver Women's Health Collective's Executive Director, Caryn Duncan. The speech addresses the plans made by the BC provincial Liberal government to cut 100% of funding for women's centres across the province in 2004. She provides a gender-based analysis of Liberal initiatives that directly impact women negatively, including cuts tot legal aid, abolishing the Ministry of Women's Equality, reducing welfare assistance, etc. The speech outlines the work of the BC Health Coalition, the 52% Coalition, and the BC Coalition of women's centres to fight against funding cuts, and calls on feminists to work together to rebuild the women's movement for stronger, more powerful voice against the government.
