Summary:
This training manual outlines different strategies and things to consider before giving a workshop. Developed by the Vancouver Women's Health Collective (VWHC), it is a shorter manual with sections included from the longer VWHC publication "Women talking about health; getting started with workshops and groups" (1988), as well as other resources. The manual addresses the role of the facilitator, publicizing an event, how to go about providing an empowering space for audiences, strategies for participation, and methods for evaluation of the workshop (both self evaluation and peer evaluation). Checklists for preparation up to and including the day of the workshop are included, as are samples of evaluations for participants and facilitators. Finally, the manual is accompanied by an 8-page collection of different examples for role-playing exercises, on the topic of menopause.
