Summary:
A report to the BC Health Coalition and the Vancouver Women's Health Collective, from Caryn Duncan's experience at the CEDAW-FAFIA meeting held in Ottawa, 2003. The report describes the meeting, the organizations and representatives in attendance, and the work being done by these groups relating to government cuts to women's programming. The report also describes the plans for the CEDAW-FAFIA members to implement the recommendations made by the UN CEDAW report. Attached is a letter Jean Augustine, Minister responsible for the Status of Women, written by Shelagh Day for the Interim Steering Committee of FAFIA and the FAFIA Ad Hoc Working Group on CEDAW Follow -Up, as well as a letter to the BC CEDAW group from Minister Colin Hansen.
