BC Coalition of People with Disabilities
Summary:
Responds to the BC Ministry of Health's Consultation Questionnaire, developed as part of the Regionalization Assessment Process. Notes that the "New Directions" decentralization BC health reform process has focused almost exclusively on governance issues to the detriment of community responsiveness; that Community Health Councils are dominated by health professionals and administrators; favours stopping the amalgamation of BC Rehabilitation with other services; encourages a bottom-up process; and recommends that a task force be established to define core services.
