Summary:
This is a newsletter of the Anti-Poverty Committee, an anti-capitalist and anti-oppression organization fighting for the rights of poor and working people in Vancouver, BC. This issue includes an Action Update: ""Safe Streets' A Dead End"" (on a 'pan-in' organized by the Housing Action Committee, the Anti-Poverty Committee, and End Legislated Poverty protesting the Safe Streets Act proposed by the Business Improvement Association) and ""Don't Be Fooled: BC Welfare Legislation Remains Oppressive to the Poor"" (on cuts to income assistance that will affect people on disabilities, single parent families, and others). It also states their basis of unity and lists ways to get involved through meetings, donations, and the Active Community Presence: Mass Advocacy Campaign.
