W.O.O.D.S.Q.U.A.T. #42 - The COPE Betrayal: Jails Are Not Appropriate Social Housing

This is a newsletter from the Woodwards Squat. This issue contains letters addressed to the incoming municipal government (COPE, Fred Bass, and Jim Green) and Mayor Larry Campbell that respond to seemingly compromised election commitments to supporting the squat made in comments to the media. In particular, concern is expressed in relation to COPE and Mayor Campbell supporting the injunction against the squat and aligning with business interests over those of marginalized people in the Downtown Eastside.
