The first initiative is the cafeteria operated out of the new Portland Hotel at 40 West Hastings St. The second initiative is a project where indigenous people visit schools and teach children about indigenous culture and values.

Article about the Warming of the Hearts event at the Strathcona Community Centre. The event also included a focus group with twenty-nine children on how to make Strathcona a better neighbourhood.
