Vancouver Women’s Health Collective

An education manual on birth control, prepared by the Vancouver Women's Health Collective (VWHC) in both English and Spanish. The manual includes description and definition of male and female reproductive systems, how pregnancy occurs, choosing a birth control method and the many different options available. The manual dispels myths about birth control and offers resources available in Vancouver.

Written by the Vancouver Women's Health Collective (VWHC), it includes a definition of a pap smear, a description of the ways to prepare for a pap smear, an explanation of how a pap smear is done, as well as an explanation of different results one might receive from the doctor after a pap smear has been analyzed. The pamphlet also describes common courses of action if an abnormal pap test is returned, and encourages women to bear in mind that an abnormal pap smear does not necessarily mean that a woman has cancer or precancerous cells.
