Article reporting on Mike Bohnert, a Port Coquitlam man who rescued chickens that had escaped from transport trucks on their way to slaughterhouses. The city and the SPCA argue that the man is breaking two bylaws which protects animals from people and vice versa. The Port Coquitlam mayor was willing to consider changing the bylaws in order to compromise.

Article arguing that there is a positive correlation between living in Vancouver's West Side and having higher health. The study was conducted over a three year period from 1990-1993. The study found that the most significant advantage was that babies born within the West Side had a higher birth weight. Conversely, the study showed that residents of the Downtown Eastside, Mount Pleasant and Grandview areas suffered the most health problems.

Article arguing that the proposal to build the new convention centre close to B.C. Place Stadium is the most logical when one considers transit and environmental issues. Additionally, this location would be most beneficial to the Downtown Eastside by providing a buffer against additional urban development plans.
