Publication type:
Brochure / Leaflet / Pamphlet / Information Sheet
Agency:
Bus Riders Union
Date:
2005-09
Pages:

Summary:
A pamphlet assessing Translink after six years of operation. The Greater Vancouver Transit Authority has not substantially improved physical accessibility of buses and has increased fares. Translink's prioritization of the RAV line has meant worsening conditions for bus riders. The schedules, fares and conditions of buses have negative effects on community health and are issues of social injustice. Improvements to the transit system have come only through concerted advocacy efforts of the community. The promise of greater community input and democratic decision-making that was initially made with the initiation of Translink, has not been fulfilled.
